TRD Aurion will provide a balanced driving experience for a sophisticated market, integrating its power with dynamic cornering ability, precise steering response and impressive stopping performance. It will distinguish itself by delivering its ample reserves of all-round performance in a way that is enjoyable and relaxing to drive - whether in traffic or on the open road." he added.

Toyota Dominates 2007 Vehicle Dependability Study
Vehicle brands and models from Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) U.S.A have conquered the recent 2007 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) from J.D. Power and Associates. Toyota's Lexus luxury division once again ranked as the highest vehicle nameplate in 13 consecutive years. Beat that!
J.D. Power and Associates' 2007 Vehicle Dependability Study was based from the responses from more than 50,000 vehicle owners during a survey. J.D. Power asked these owners to state some problems of their vehicles during the three years of ownership. Problems are measured by "problems per 100 vehicles" or PP100. Lexus scored the highest with only 145 PP100. This only proves that Lexus models offer high residual value and strong reliability.
"There are many studies conducted throughout the year, but VDS remains one of the most significant measures of long-term vehicle quality and reliability. Any studies that don't take into consideration the durability of a vehicle over an extended period of ownership are not true indicators of overall quality and customer satisfaction," said Jim Lentz, TMS executive vice president.
"Internal studies show that dependability is consistently the top purchase reason for Toyota, Lexus and Scion buyers, and we will continue to prioritize quality as our product offerings and sales volume increase." he added.
Toyota and Scion brands also earned high positions in the vehicle nameplate rankings. Toyota was in the 5th place with 178 PP100, and Scion in the 17th place with 220 PP100. For the segment awards, Lexus earned five awards, Toyota with four, and Scion with one award for the xA, which ranked as the highest in the Sub-Compact Car segment.

Top 10 Most Popular Cars from CarGurus
Although the U.S. is now suffering from increasing gas prices as well as the increasing demands in petroleum fuel, consumer still look for sport utility vehicle (SUV) and sports car models. That is according to an online survey conducted by CarGurus (www.cargurus.com), one of the leading online sources of automotive information.
According to Langley Steinert, Co-founder and CEO of CarGurus: "U.S. online auto consumers love their sports cars and utility trucks. While online consumers understand the gas crisis intellectually, they just don't seem willing to part with the cargo space and performance offered by utility trucks and sports cars. The interesting challenge for auto manufacturers is to find a way to offer consumers the total package of cargo space, performance and improved gas mileage. For example, hybrid trucks and pure electric sports cars are interesting products on the horizon that might be able to bridge this gap of consumer needs and environmental realities."
Visitors at CarGurus' website ranked some 2007 model year vehicles based on the popularity. And the results? Well, surprisingly, the top 10 most popular models are dominated by SUVs, pick up trucks, and sports cars. Whew!

The Toyota invitation on motorsports innovations
August 16 visitors to the Monterey Peninsula will have the chance to hear six experts from the high performance and motorsports industries in a discussion on the developments that materialized over the last 25 years. Toyota’s "Evolution to Revolution" forum will be an entertaining discussion with stories of innovation, planning, perseverance, exact science and plain dumb luck.
The free-wheeling discussion will be hosted by self-proclaimed failed motorcycle racer and Speed Channel's Dave Despain.
The experts who will share their views are Richard Cregan, Pierre Dupasquier, Herb Fishel, Mario Illien, Richard Karlstetter and Phil Remington.
In his 23 years at Toyota Motorsport, Cregan has held several positions. He has been F1 Operations General Manager since 1999 and Team Manager since 2004.
Recent retiree Dupasquier has gained almost 180 world championship titles including about 30 in rallying, 7 in Formula One, 55 in motorcycle grand prix racing, 11 in Superbikes and 19 in the Cross Country Rally World Cup.
Fishel has been the most influential for GM's performance programs throughout the second half of the 20th century. He was included in the 100 most influential people in the first 50 years of hot rodding by Hot Rod magazine and also belonged in the 12 most influential people in racing by Racer magazine.
Co-founder of Ilmor Engineering, Illien has designed engines that have won in Formula One, Indy Car, NASCAR and has recently moved into MotoGP with a brand new high revving engine for this season.
Director of Shell's Global Fuel Technology Group, Karlstetter specifically focuses on next generation fuel technologies. Fifteen years ago, he joined Shell leading various departments like the Shell Global Solutions Germany vehicle testing group.
Known as "Mr. Fix-it" around the pits, All American Racers' Remington was responsible in running the first American F1 car at Monte Carlo, spurred the Ford Shelby Cobra Team win the sports car war against Ferrari and was in the pits when Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt won Ford's greatest victory at Le Mans.
Keith Dahl, National Manager of Engagement Marketing for Toyota Motor Sales USA, assured that the panelists are experts in their fields and will present an amusing, and maybe even radical view, on what happened in the past and how it may affect future development.
The forum begins at 3:30 p.m. at Laguna Seca Raceway's Red Bull Center as part of Toyota's sponsorship of the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races.
